Standing between France and Germany, with no army to speak of, Luxembourg had no opportunity to remain neutral during the Second World War. The relatively small grand duchy did have an appreciable base of industry and population for its size, but her leaders decided not to use it to build up their armed forces. At most they might have fielded a division or so of troops, not nearly enough to hold back their neighbors’ massive armies. Instead, they decided to quite literally close the duchy’s doors to intruders

1940: The Fall of Luxembourg is an expansion for Panzer Grenadier: 1940 The Fall of France, bringing you the entire order of battle of Luxembourg forces in the Second World War in Panzer Grenadier format.

That adds up to a whopping 16 pieces, including leaders, plus four more markers for the curious Luxembourgeouis (Luxemburger? Luxembourgian?) defense strategy: stop the Germans by closing big steel doors across the roads. Maybe if we turn out all the lights they’ll get the hint and go home. You even get a couple of scenarios!
