A Panzer Grenadier Story
In July 1941, Benito Mussolini ordered the Royal Italian Army to dispatch an expeditionary corps into the Soviet Union to fight alongside the Germana and the other Axis invaders. The Italian Expeditionary Corps (Corpo di Spedizione Italiano in Russia, or CSIR) joined the campaign with two semi-motorized infantry divisions (with enough vehicles in theory to move their artillery and service elements, but not the infantry) and one “fast” division (a mix of horsed cavalry and truck-borne light infantry). The CSIR would fight for the next year, until more Italian divisions arrived and the CSIR became part of the Italian 8th Army.

La Campagna in Russia tells the story of this campaign in Panzer Grenadier format: 36 scenarios from the battles of the CSIR in 1941 and 1942, told in our narrative format with chapters that place the scenarios in the story and battle games that link the scenarios together.
